Home Based Business
The Great Lakes area has an established and extensive home based business network which provides support, advice and networking opportunities for potential and existing home based business operators.
Members of the network cover a variety of professions ranging from architectural and landscaping services to gourmet food production and financial services.
The network presents a fantastic opportunity to meet other home based business operators as well as acquiring new skills and hands on information in a relaxed and informal environment.
Previous events have included evening network events with a range of traveling experts and speakers. Network members have access to support through agencies such as the Hunter Business Centre, the Department of State and Regional Development and the Small Business Field Officer Program who attend all events.
Feedback from businesses attending the events has been extremely positive and will be used to develop the program of events further to ensure that it continues to meets the needs of home based businesses in the area.
Topics covered so far by the Home Based Business network include:
- Marketing
- Business Planning
- Balancing Home and Business
- Telecommunications
- Database Marketing
Ideas or suggestions for future events or topics are most welcome. Please contact Deb Tuckerman at Great Lakes Council.
