The Great Lakes are is overflowing with adventure all year round with abundant surfing and swimming spots along the beautiful coastline as well as numerous sporting and social clubs. From triathlon to tennis, bridge to bowls. Whether its action you are after, or something a little more sedate, the Great Lakes area has it all and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots on the NSW coast.
Beaches Between October and April lifesavers are on duty at Forster, One Mile, Elizabeth, Boomerang, Blueys and Hawks Nest Beaches...or you can take the family to one of our ocean pools located at Forster and Tuncurry. Picnic tables, free BBQ facilities and public amenities are available at most locations.
Surfing

Golf

Swimming Pools
The Great Lakes area has many ocean, lake and indoor swimming pools and a number of swimming clubs to choose from. Freshwater swimming pools are located at Bulahdelah, Stroud, Tea Gardens and Tuncurry. Swimming enclosures are located at Allworth, Coomba Park, Forster and Tuncurry.  Great Lakes Aquatic Centre

There are 11 sporting complexes within the Great Lakes area and a wide range of sporting clubs are active in the area for all ages. From bowls to badminton, croquet to kayaking or football to fencing - the Great Lakes has it all.
