Great Lakes College is a multi-campus collegiate, established in 2003. It spans three separate campuses encompassing Forster campus for Yrs 7-10; Tuncurry Junior Campus for Yrs 7-10; and Tuncurry Senior Campus for Yr 11-12. As a college, the campuses are able to afford the benefits of a large school, including the provision of a wide range of subjects, while maintaining the more personal approach offered by small schools. It strives to encourage: the achievement of personal bests; responsible attitudes; and respect for and tolerance of others. As a learning community, the school continually seeks to improve student outcomes and teaching practice in order to develop the skills necessary for life-long learning. There is also a strong tradition in the provision of a diverse sporting program which encompasses both competitive and leisure-based activities. Cultural excellence is encouraged through a wide range of well-developed programs in drama, public speaking, debating, creative dance and music.
